Barn Owl hunting, Hawling, Gloucestershire

The Short-eared Owls predominately hunt in two adjacent unploughed fields near Hawling. Most photographers and observers assemble on the southern boundary of the west field located here although the Owls do hunt over the east field located here. The Owls can also be viewed from a public footpath running along the northern boundary of the fields. This Barn Owl was seen during the day in the north-east corner of the west field here in the area around a small wood, where it probably roosts, and over the disused quarry. It also ventured down to the southern boundary of the west field at dusk.
