This image was taken in the grounds of Home Away From Home next to the Bears Den Cottage. Home Away From Home is a convenient base on Vancouver Island as it is a short drive to Telegraph Cove from where the Stubbs Island Whale Watching and TideRip Grizzly Bear boat trips depart.

The Black-tailed Deer is a sub-species (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus) of the Mule Deer seen in the Pacific Northwest. Status is Least Concern. For more information on this species of Deer see:
