This image was taken during the Flamingos of the High Andes trip organised by Natures Images and led by Mark Sisson and Pablo Cersosimo (Wild South Photography). The group spent two nights at Hotel Tayka del Desierto (website in Spanish) which is at an altitude of around 4520 metres. We had previously acclimatised for several days at a lower altitude of about 2450 metres in San Pedro de Atacama in Chile before crossing the border at Hito Cajones into Bolivia.
