Mount Batur from Kintamani, Bali

Mount Batur is an active volcano with two craters having a maximum elevation of 1717 metres. The volcano most recently erupted in 2000 and the black lava field from the 1968 eruption is clearly visible in the photograph. Good views of the volcano can be obtained from Kintamani town. It is possible to undertake a guided trek to the summit for sunrise.
