Tufted Duck (female)

Tjörnin, Reykjavik, Iceland (February 2010)
Tjörnin (translates as the Pond) is a small lake in the centre of the capital. Apparently around 40 species of birds breed here. Many ducks, geese and swans congregate here to be fed by the locals. It was partly frozen when visited in February. The ice was thick enough to be walked on.
