Grey Trembler, St. Lucia

Grey Trembler, St. Lucia - Grey Trembler
Fond Doux Holiday Plantation, near Soufriere, St. Lucia (October 2013)

Status is Least Concern. The Grey Trembler (Cinclocerthia gutturalis) is only found on Martinique (subspecies gutturalis) and St Lucia (subspecies macrorhyncha); these might be separate species. If so, the "St Lucia Grey Trembler" is one of seven endemic bird species (according to Wikipedia) in St Lucia; the others are St Lucia Oriole, St Lucia Black Finch, St Lucia Warbler, Semper's Warbler, Forest Thrush and St Lucia Amazon. This bird was spotted from the balcony of our cottage (Hilltop Papaya) on the Plantation. It certainly lives up to its name as it frequently trembles its wings.
