Putana & Vega de Putana wetland, Chile

This image was taken during the North Chile's Coastal & Desert Wildlife trip organised by Natures Images and led by Mark Sisson and Pablo Cersosimo (Wild South Photography).
This is an easterly view towards Putana (summit 5890 metres high) which is on the Chile-Bolivia border. Putana is an active volcano although the date of the last eruption is uncertain. The summit features some fumaroles which are depositing sulphur as evidenced by the yellow colour surrounding the vents.
