Jökulsárlón, Iceland (June 2017)

This image was taken during a trip organised by Natures Images and led by Danny Green and Paul Hobson. Jökulsárlón is a glacial lagoon containing icebergs calved from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. The icebergs range in colour from white, grey, blue through to black; some are transparent and glass-like. The blue icebergs contain the oldest and most compressed / most dense ice which reflects blue light while absorbing other colours.
