Dettifoss is a waterfall near Lake Myvatn. It was used as a location in the opening sequence of the science-fiction film Prometheus (2012).
The group took a trip to Dettifoss hoping to find Ptarmigan nearby but instead had good views of Whimbrel, Golden Plover, Black-tailed Godwit and Redwing.
