Redshank calling, near Hotel Raudaskrida, Iceland

Near Hotel Rauðaskriða, Aðaldalur, near Húsavík, Iceland (June 2014)
The hotel is a good base for trips to Húsavík (for whale-watching), Lake Mývatn and the waterfalls Dettifoss and Goðafoss. Snipe, Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Whimbrel and Golden Plover were common and quite approachable in the fields surrounding the hotel. This image was taken from my hire car on the 85 just a short distance from the hotel.
