Redshank flying, Hotel Raudaskrida, Iceland

Hotel Rauðaskriða, Aðaldalur, near Húsavík, Iceland (June 2014)
There is nearly 24 hours of daylight at this time of the year in Iceland; this photo was taken at almost 10 pm in lovely low sunshine. The hotel is a good base for trips to Húsavík (for whale-watching), Lake Mývatn and the waterfalls Dettifoss and Goðafoss. Snipe, Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank, Whimbrel and Golden Plover were common and quite approachable in the fields surrounding the hotel.
