Brown Bear cub from the Swamp Hide at Martinselkonen

This photo was taken on a Nature Images Finland Bears trip led by Mark Sisson.
The Swamp was a good area to see a variety of Bear behaviours in an open setting in good light. This photograph was taken at 10:15 pm; sunset was at midnight and sunrise at about 2:30 am. Generally Bear activity declined substantially around 11:00 pm when all the food had been eaten. After this time, only an occasional Bear passed through and didn't linger. This was a good time to catch a few hours of sleep! Photographers remain in the hides overnight until about 7:00 am the next morning. There is a choice of Swamp, Forest and Pond hides.
